The Linnaeus Museum - Linnémuseet

The Linnaeus Museum situated in the Garden was Linnaeus’ home
from 1743 to 1778. During his residency the building was an international centre for research in natural history and medicine. Here he taught and completed much of his research and writings, for the inspiration of an entire generation of students. From his study overlooking the garden he maintained his intensive correspondence with fellow men of science all over the world. Their replies brought an abundant harvest of seeds, plants and animals. The downstairs apartment was the residence of the industrious Mrs Linnaeus and their five children. Today the house contains the museum exhibitions and a wealth of objects originally belonging to the family and describing the Linnaeus' life in Uppsala.
